Aging and Disabilities is a unit of Community Legal Services which specializes in helping seniors and people with disabilities overcome some of the problems they face. We assist nursing home residents, personal care residents and homebound elderly, as well as other vulnerable seniors in Philadelphia.

Our staff helps seniors with a broad range of legal matters, including:

• Assisting residents of nursing homes and personal care homes who are having problems with quality of care or residents' rights.
• Representing people who have been denied Medical Assistance to pay for nursing home care.
• Assisting seniors who are trying to get or keep long term care services in their own homes through the Waiver or Options programs.
• Providing advice and information about Medical Assistance estate recovery, which is the program through which the state tries to recover the costs of Medical Assistance-funded long term care from the probate estates of recipients after they pass away.
